Reading through some discussions this morning I thought how wonderful this site is. I wish I could thank the faceless people who started it up. I also appreciate the privacy of email that hasnt been assaulted with DS advertising bumph - so if they had an economic component it isnt intrusive!
For me DS has become a cyber family of sorts, certainly the only place where I dont feel self conscious or a health bore about my symptoms. There are friends I have made whom I value highly. It has made me feel normal in the context of this nasty disease. It has reassured me at times of "oh help what is this?" It provides ideas, alternatives and inspiration from the stories of those so much worse off.
I know I rarely go on about symptoms to anyone except husband (His Job) as I have this safe place.
Do others feel the same?

My cousin started a real people group in Alberta many years ago. Over 30. It folded from lack of funding, so I am thinking a few ads are easy to ignore, if it means having friends who understand.
