Have you found any big changes with your insurance?
The glasses I get, not that I agree.
The steroid shots not covered is another thing.
Heck where are you suppose to get them?
It's expected that RA patients would require this type of treatment from their doctor who treats this disease.
That makes no sense.
In fact I would think it would be less costly to get the injections right there in the office.
Everything is becoming more difficult with insurance.
what was once covered without a second thought is no longer covered or you jump through numerous hoops.
It's a mess.
Stood in my doctors office yesterday with a patient complaining that her medication which was never a problem in the past was no longer covered.
It's getting out of control. Co pays, deductables costs are up but there is less & less coverage. At least through private plans.
We've paid out of pocket for as long as I can recall. Yet every year there's less actual coverage. No one can keep up with the changes.
Drs no longer know what's covered, what they can do or prescribe without problems. Everyone's caught in an insurance choke hold.
I'm ranting & raving here. There's no reason you could not get the injections. It's simply BS.

I can still get my infusions, thank goodness. We are still on the retiree plan thru my husbands work. Every year we loose coverage and it will only get worse. I'm getting pretty good at appealing their rulings. It seems the days of the doctors knowing best is gone and that is real sad. Good luck to you!

If the prescription for your glasses wasn't totally correct to begin with-you would think the insurance would still have to step in?

ask if it is covered in outpaient department of a hospital if administered by an anesthesiologist.

sometimes the retirement plans make huge participating provider negotiations for price. it might be cheaper for them there, and that is why they might be dictating place for coverage.

Vision coverage - two choices you can probably work with considering your insurance.
The first - consider lens replacement only.
The second - consider an online prescription order. I get my glasses at zennioptical. Great glasses, great cost. Even some of the most expensive progressive/transitions (if you want the darkening) are around $100.
I've gotten several pairs (progressive only, no line) that are $50. Get your eye doc to measure the distance between your pupils. That and the prescription are all you need.
There are other places to order but I'm partial to zenni - and look for coupons before you order or sign up to get discount offers.

I'm going to look into the lens replacement only. They will work with me on a discount since I'm not using insurance. I've used Zenni once before and was not impressed with the glasses. But that was several years ago. Will check them out again. Thanks. My medical insurance is totally different than my eye care insurance. Problems with both but am learning to deal with them.
