Not sure if I have it but I sweat all them time since getting RA. The only answer I got was maybe it is the Cymbalta so we dropped to sixty mgs. I still sweat a lot.

I did some research and some meds are at fault, I just need to know if there is anything i can do to eliviate it.

I took myself off of Cymbalta because it caused me to perspire so heavily that I was embarassed to go out in public. It was worse than any sweating associated with menopause. Since stopping Cymbala, no perspiration problems.

I also have severe sweating, but am on Cymbalta as well. It's awful!

I have no suggestions, wish I did! I recently developed a severe head sweating problem, like I've dipped my head in water. Normally I sweat so little I don't even need to wear deodorant. I had to cut my hair super short.

Sweating started around the same time as Orencia 2.5 months ago. Has been improving last week or so, maybe because weather is cooling down? So tired of all these weird symptoms!

Head all the time, and generally the whole body. I am not sure when or why it started, but I regularly soak my clothes and hair. Hope you figure it out.

YES I sweat like nobody's business. Granted, it is hot here in Texas but unless I use rx anti perspirant I'll sweat through any shirt I'm wearing in a matter of minutes (it's really gross!)

Dr thinks it "could be" meds, I don't know what causes it but it's nasty LOL

I sweat a lot! but I also have a thyroid problem and I'm starting to go through menopause as well. Not fun!

Hi All, I've had really bad sweats for 3 years, I was told it is part of the symptoms of RA/SNA. At first I thought I was going through the change but doctor did test to checked me and said it wasn't , then about a year and a bit back was diagnosed with sero negative RA, so I wasn't on the meds then. I feel the sweats are worse now especially when I have a flare up. I was out with my husband on sunday for lunch and i was soaked by the time I came out. I can not link it to the weather here as I live in England and most of the time its wet and cold, any way one good thing that comes out of this i don't need to go for a sauna as i create my own, and my face is always soft. Good luck, and keep us informed if he gives you any information or advise.

I will be interested in hearing what your doc has to say. I sweat like a sailor working on deck in the sun. It is a freakish thing! Best Wishes!

I too am on Cymbalta. At one point I was on 120mg, still on 60mg.
I too sweat. I attributed it to being overweight, but then someone mentioned a while back that they had the same issue on Cymbalta.

In 2008/2009, I started with night sweats. Trouble rolling over in bed. Foot pain, especially in the morning, so bad I had to hold on to the bed, door jambs, walls, etc to make it to the bathroom. I was training for the Breast Cancer 3 Day, I attributed the foot pain to overuse injury from training. It never went away . . .

Ok, so I went today to see the Dermitologist,and he doesn't think its hypohidrosis, b/c I dont have the classic symptoms. He did lab work to rule out TB,bc of the night sweats. He also did oe other to check the fuction of the lymph nodes and electrlolytes. Hectold me to cut my BP pills in 1/2. He said that you bp goes down when you eat and that can cause sweating as well skce I also start after I eat. It lasts about 6 min each episode about an hr apart. I recorded it. Mostly on my forehead,back,neck,and at night all over. Almost like going through menopause, exept I already went through it.
I know RA contributes some form of sweating, bug I have had RA since 2008 and just started this in March of this year. And yes tort it is true that the weather here has been awful to say the least. You Guys in the North send us some relief. Anyway I let you all know the results of my bloodwork when they come back. I will research a little more on the subject too.

Thanks for giving us the update. It's interesting that there might be a blood pressure connection. For me, this start of profuse head sweating is pretty dramatic and different than anything I've ever had. And I had RA almost a year before it started.

So I'm going to vote for the drugs we're on, since my sweating started with my Orencia a coule of months ago. That's my guess. I'm trying to get to the bottom of a bunch of weird symptoms that have appeared recently - sweating, shortness of breath, lack of appetite and weight loss. Of course, compared to RA pain, they all seem minor! But strange nonetheless and they make my husband worried.

I have had HH since I was born, so it's not RA-related or medication-related, (as I was just diagnosed today), but HH is actually more than just sweating a lot. As your dermatologist probably explained, people with HH look like they have jumped into a swimming pool, generally legs, thighs, bottom, hands and feet are dripping. I have zero underarm or facial/head sweating. People with HH generally do not sweat during sleeping. Also, people with HH sweat when they are NOT hot, heat makes it worse, but temperature is irrelevant. Also, we can be shivering and sweating at the same time, because in a person without HH, the body sweats, then reaches optimal temperature, then stops sweating. This is NOT the case with HH sufferers. The "off switch" is broken for us, so once we have reached optimal temperature, we still continue to sweat uncontrollably. For many of us, me included, the only thing that stops the sweating once it starts, is blowing air, from a portable fan or blowing air from vents in the car. I am actually a cold-natured person. So, I hope this helps all of you who have been wondering if you may have HH. It's actually pretty rare, you would know without a doubt if you have it, there would be no question about it.
