I used to have terrific problems getting up. They way I dealt with it was to take my prednisone and pain meds a couple of hours before I got out of bed. When it was time to get up, I was much better able to get around.

A word of caution if you do this. My duggist warned me that it's not a good idea to lie flat on your back after swallowing pills. There's a chance they could lodge in your esophagus and cause deterioration of the lining. I kept my head and shoulders slightly elevated, and made sure I took the meds with plenty of water.

this happens to me everyday...it's the RA "status quo" for me.

Yeah i try to take pain pills when i get up I try to remind myself to put them in my room but i have the non child proof lid and and I am always scared my cats will pop the top off of them if they knock them over. I try to keep snacks in my room so i can munch on something so my stomach doesn't get upset. I just miss the days where i could get up and go lol

Yes, every morning, what works is keeping my pill box next to my bed, take it a half hour to hour before I get out of bed like buddacat does. works amazing that way

Sounds like me of a morning. I also take my pills about an hour before I get up.

I just can't get over that no matter what physical, emotional, mental situation we are in we ALL can ALWAYS relate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is sadly amazing!!!!!

When I get up I just go right for my medicine and coffee then sit on the couch for a few hours. then I might get a couple hours were I am functional then I am on the couch for the rest of the day.

Yes, when my RA was at its worst, getting up was horrendous. Now, with my osteo, it's not fun, but I can do it.
