I am attempting to find a new Rheumy. Ever since moving to Houston I have been disappointed with the care I have gotten from my Rheumy. I have only seen her 3 times so it is her staff I am more frustrated with however this latest "mistake" on their part was a big one in my opinion.
I emailed my Dr. to ask for copies of all my past labs because my SED rate has continued to rise since I moved here a year ago. I wanted to see all my lab reports so I asked her to send them.
I received someone else's lab results. Should I do something or report it or call the lady whose lab results I got so she can report it? I emailed the Dr. and called the office and did get mine. When the Dr. called me back she apologized for the "mistake" but my Dr. really just made excuses for her staff. This is just the straw that broke the camel's back. Her office has repeatedly made mistakes with prescriptions, doesn't call me back and once her front office gal threatened to hang up on me.
She doesn't listen to me when I voice issues I'm having, she dismisses my concerns with "well that's okay, it's nothing really." and she doesn't do a full exam like my last doctor who would check my hands, elbows, knees, ankles and feet. She doesn't listen to my breathing or heart or anything. She looks at my hands and that's it.
When I asked her about the SED rate going for 25 to 67 (normal is below 20) she said "we treat the patient not the numbers and you are doing great".....I wanted to slap her. My CCP levels are good so that's not a big concern but the rise in the SED rate should be an indication something is going on....
The only thing she said is that we could switch me to infusions...why would we if she thinks I'm doing okay? It feels like she's just trying to shut me up without hearing me.
I know I'm rambling and venting but at least I'm getting it out. It's been awhile since I've checked in. This issue is causing me a lot of stress because I have Tricare there aren't many Dr.'s that accept it (so much for supporting our military).

sorry about the new Rheumie being a d u d
do you need records from her office to move onto the other tricare options (how many do you have?) - get those first before doing a Hippa - get them in hand if possible and just pay the copying fee.
do you need a pcp referral or can you self select another Rheumie?
