Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. just a question
hang in there
is it really your hips? (like is it where you hands go when you place them on your hips or where you hold a baby on the side?
or is it lower?
if its lower it could be your hip bursas as opposed to your hips.
i have those injected with cortisone and it takes a second (in the rheumie's office, she does it)
and I have also had them injected under fluoroscopy (different procedure under x ray) and an anesthesiologist does it
awake just needle sticks takes one minute
either way gives me a little relief.

did you notice the pain was non existent during the bedroom activities? ah the blessings of endorphins!!!! - smile - good for you.
i think the rheumie is going to tell you those are your bursas not your hip joint. same fall guy: RA
i have the regular ole rheumie inject them right at check up time blind - she would inject wherever i pointed. they helped more in the beginning. ask about it. the injection is cortisone
i am going to have epidural injections this wed with light sedation to see if the physiatrist can attack this from a S1 referred pain angle. I have an awful time with pain and restriction of walking like you from specifically this area, hip bursas. wish me luck. i'll let you know since you have the same issue.
i asked and received novacaine patches (I am in the no narcotic practice) they really help. it's just numbing mechanism.
went to physical therapy the month of september to work on the bursas below the hip. kind of helped. kind of.
now I am in the pool program at the Y - that WORKS - makes me feel like a princess.
also I purchased a gel topper for my bed at costco - 4 inches - it REALLY REALLY helps. night and day. when I am miserable I lay on that.
i think what really works is what you referenced loving wise. yep tht works also. don't forget those "homeopathic" activities...laughing
i hope you had a better day today.

"Conditions like rheumatoid arthritis can lead to the release of inflammatory agents into the bursae. Also, calcium-based crystals can form in the sacs, causing friction and tearing."
that's my two cents - heading for that 4 inch topper.
