Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...
I found that quercetin, a supplement meant for allergic reactions works fairly well for my skin issues when taken daily. You might want to check it out. I heard about it originally from the Sarcoidosis group.

I have seen this come up before and know people like Sarah have had to deal with it. I know there are others, and hopefully you will be hearing more from them as well. So far I have not dealt with that one. RA is such a mystery disease, who knows why some suffer more, or have problems that others don't. I just hope you can get it nailed down.
I have heard about how those sores could be linked to RA flaring and going into remission. My RD told me yesterday that all the strep throat I had as a kid was probably part of my autoimmune problems even back then. I dunno. We can send a man to the moon ... right?
The hives come up as whelps that itch awful. Wherever you run your fingernail on your skin it whelps up. The rash is raised bumps but they DON'T wheep or ooze. In fact the rash will be there now and in 15 minutes be gone.
My Rhuematologist can't explain it and can't figure out why it will not go away. I have read that it goes hand in hand with RA. My sister has RA and also has hives but not as bad. Like RA alone is not bad enough without having more problems to go with it.
I suffer from the hives everyday but I have seen some that only dealt with it occasionally.
