I only experienced the hair loss from Methotrexate. Never any vomiting,but did have really bad kidney pains. Went to the ER and they found nothing wrong.

MTX can be hard on the kidneys, so drinking lots of water on your MTX day is really important. As for the hair loss, are you taking folic acid? You might want to ask your doc if she thinks the dosage needs to be increased. In addition, some people on this site have said that taking biotin helped stop the hair loss.

I never took MTXT but just wanted to pass along my support.

I'm on MTX and folic acid. I agree with debRAin. And MTX can give you flu-like symptoms.

I wasn't on humira but I was on injectable MTX with prescription levels of folic acid and I was still throwing up and I still lost all my hair. The day after my MTX shot I was in such a brain fog I literally could not recall my own phone number or home address!

As I said I wasn't on humira but I was on enbrel and I too had kidney pains all the time. Turned out at first I had just urinary track infections that would show the day after injecting enbrel and it finally got bad enough my kidneys were beginning to shut down as they were so infected. IV antibiotics for a few days on that one! So do watch out for those kidneys as humira acts a little like enable but then again these drugs never seem to act the same from person to person.

Sten, I am so sorry about all the horrible symptoms you are having. It is ironic but I have been on injectable MTX for 9 years and t wasn't til I started humira that my hairdresser said my hair was coming out in clumps. I mentioned it to the rheumy and basically shrugged her shoulders. I did take humira, enbrel and am now on orencia. I have not had ANY nausea or vomitting, but I have had some kidney pain. Sounds to me like you should call your doctor now and tell him or her about all the symptoms you are having. Have a talk with your doctor and have some alternative ideas of your own. I experienced bad hair loss, nausea, fatigue awful things from the MTX and had to stop it because it was hurting my liver. I just started the humira 4 weeks ago ( about to have my 3rd injection) and have started having the kidney/chest pain its the worst when I am lying down. I dont know why and I really hope this gets better for both of us!

I took the motho, not the injections though. I was taking 6 pills a week. The pills made me sick, hair loss, flu like symptoms. I was ready to hold a party when the docs put me on Enbrel. Hope things get better for you soon.

My routine lab tests showed blood in the urine..I had no pain or visible blood.Tests showed a large struvite stone..I had surgery to remove it. I also take mthx..and folic acid. Lost much of my long hair ..best advice...Not to much shampooing and use a soft brush..Hair seems to be growing back..Check out the kidney pain. Maybe you should see an urologist...Luck and luv....memmay
