My encouragement is don't give up! Keep on pressing for better meds. Give the increase in dosage of mthx around 6-8 weeks, my rheumatologist said. After that, it may be time to ask for a biologic.
I hope the swelling goes down. And if those joints are flared, don't push through the pain and use them. I did that with my feet, and I got horrible deformities, which haunt me 20 years later.
