i have a fair amount of sinus crap. i use flonase a lot. it helps. been on orencia 2 years. allergy/sinus head aches hurt my upper teeth. tell your rheumatologist for the heck of it :) - see tonight if a home made steam bath does any good.

Sometimes i think it is the meds. Ever since starting on humira i am stuffed up all the time. Never had this type of issue until humira. I have tried the netti pots saline spray prescription nasal spray nothing helped. Now off humira and second round of antibiotics. Soon to start Enbrel. Grrr

I'm getting along fine with Orencia, but Enbrel gave me headaches that were too much to deal with.

race runner the sinus infections i had were greatest on humira. i sill had them on enbrel and i am married to flonase on orencia but still less head junk sick than I was on humira. hang in there

Thanks depot. Yes the sinus crap was something i could not live with on humira it was horrible.

Had my visit with my rheumy and it was a great visit. He said the headaches are probably caused by the Orencia and should dissipate as time goes on. He did say the stuffy nose and head is a major complication and will stick around. He was amazed at how fast this med has helped with my pain. I am ecstatic! I hope this continues to work for me. Hope everyone is having a great day!

I realize your post was 2 months ago but I thought I would throw in my 2 cents. I was on Orencia for 2 weeks when the H/A's started, I had a H/A every day and at least 1 1/2 days a week, the last few weeks I was on it I had to miss work and just stay in a dark quiet room the pain was so bad. I wanted to give it a fair trial but my Dr. wanted it stopped. She felt they would not get better. One week after stopping the H/A stopped and I haven't had one since. I took my first shot of Simponi last week and am hoping it works.

I have since started on xeljanz and a couple days after starting it i have a headache every morning lasting throughout the day. Some days the headaches are bad other days a nuisance. I had the same with arava. We try to fix one thing then something else happens. What the heck.

All these meds have side effects. I take Orencia and I do get headaches. So far, the benefits outweigh the side effects. Everything I take has some side effects! What else can we do?

Headaches. Sore throat, upper respiratory are all possible,
Started Orencia also woke up today with headache but my heat is kicking on like crazy thanks to the bitter cold. That csn do it for me.
Hope it gets better. Some good reports on Orencia thinking posative.

here's some good news: this has been the kindest gentlest non infection present biologic for me. no headaches. manageable sinus and lung crap (manageabe, not non existent) . no oxygen for pneumonias since last march. this is phenomenal for me.

i stop reading the side effects after one go around when first going on a new med. one thorough read. then see ya later ruminative wise :) - this process seems to work for me. make sure you call in anything worrisome to your RA's voice mail or office phone today though. let them notate it.

I just had my 2nd shot of Orencia last night and woke up with a terrible headache. I didn't have the feeling with the 1st shot. Hopefully some Advil will make it go away. I also have had a stuffy nose for the past few days.

At least my pain isn't getting any worse but for now it hasn't gotten too much better. I'm only 8 days into this drug so I am being patient.
