Maybe completely unrelated to RA or meds, but have any of you had a mouth ulcer that turned hard and just remained (2 weeks now)? Not red or painful at all.

the mtx sometimes causes those for me, the rheum has me use this crap called magic mouthwash which the local pharmacy compounds for me - and it feels like Maalox with other stuff in it - it's a swish and spit (sorry for the gross play by play). the prescribing bottle actually says the words "magic mouthwash". (funny). but I remembered you are on mtx hiatus right for your enzymes so it can't be the mtx?

Do you have dry eyes or mouth? People with sjogrens can get persistent or recurrent sores in the nose or mouth

I had really bad mouth ulcers with mthx the last year I was on it back in 2009, when my liver enzymes went sky high. But they were white and hurt horribly, so it doesn't sound like what you have. My family doctor thought it was mouth cancer. But they disappeared quickly after I went off mthx for good that time, so probably not what you have. (Except now I am back on mthx, 7 years later and it is really helping!)

But do contact your doctor, if it continues.
