Some folks wear splint that holds your wrist still while you sleep so it can help relieve nighttime symptoms of tingling and numbness. Some folks wear then during the day too.
Now even after the surgery (which I had years ago) and since the RA has hit my hands and wrist so hard and they seem to stay swollen all the time I have problems with carpal tunnel again. I do wear the my splints most nights.
Hope you find out what is causing your pain. Hope you get some relief soon.

finally look at the resting splints (hard metal) in CVS for sleeping at night and ask your rheumatologist about these and a script for OT.
