So we are now onto my last week of my third year first semester, its a stressful time but im taking a look at Saturday i do not have any homework do, any project to write or paper to do..So yay me.
So i received a packet from my doctor inside this packet was a brochure about Humira as well as an order to have a TB test done before my next appointment, 12/24. This has left me baffled. Apparently the Methotrexate isn't doing enough on its own or what. The note didn't really say. So i have been utilizing resources and looking up posts here about humira. So i dont have many questions concerning that at least right now.
Its only been a month since official diagnosis, i've been on MTX for around two months now. I saw some improvement but i dont think its enough. particularly when i had to stop it for two weeks due too bronchitis and antibiotics to get that to go away. I did notice about 1 week after stopping MTX that my swelling did go up,since i started two weeks ago i havent noticed any change like i did before.
I know my family are starting to get it. They dont make comments anymore that im not walking fast enough, they actually slow themselves down so i dont seem so slow. Which for my stepdad who is on the go 24/7 i know its a struggle for him becuase he wants to get in and get out...but they pace themselves with me. If i need to take a break from walking they will stay with me and wait until im ready to move on. I still hate it. At times i feel like a burden. I know im not but it feels that way.
Overall its a slow forward march, one step backwards for every two steps forward! But its progress which is awesome.
now off to finish those papers i need to do lol.

i've just taken my first dose of mtx on saturday after the week off. i'm eager for it to do it's thing because i'm in a bit of pain. my husband is trying to understand but it's hard for him, i think. he is supportive and doesn't get upset or frustrated with me when i can't do things too fast or ask him for help around the house. so he's trying.

I think Humira and Enbrel are the two drugs they start out with, my doctor let me choose which I wanted.... I went with Humira because it is an injection every other week and Enbrel is weekly.... yep I am a chicken LOL the least amount of injections is fine with me.

I have daughters & if it was one of them I'd do everything in my power to educate & understand.
I truly hope the Humira helps.
Your families understanding will be a huge help. I'm happy they are making the attempt.
It's normal to feel we are burdens at times but everyone will go through something in this life time that will make them feel the same way.
There's no limits with love. My sister had RA at a younger age & my parents were a huge support system, as was the family.
She had a career & 4 kids also.
I hope you girls have understanding, happiness & success.
There is no way school is not difficult at times.
If any of you were my daughters I'd be more then a little proud of your strength & determination.
