My wife and I went to Florida to visit my father and step-mother for their birthday weekend - their birthdays are on consecutive days - and my step-mother is getting some alternative treatments - so they booked me in too -
I had acupuncture for the first time - and a low level laser treatment, which is supposed to reduce inflammation - apparently a lot of athletes use it - and we topped it off with a couple's massage -
I can't say which one of the three was the most effective, but having all three in a row certainly put me in a better mood - the massage really helps my frozen shoulder and of course is relaxing -
I know that many people find pain relief with acupuncture - and after a little pushing I was willing to give it a try - the laser thing seemed like a little pseudo science to me - and I know that I can't make a determination on both after just one treatment -
Anyway - I had a good couple of days until the flight back home - and today is the day after my methotrexate treatment - but all in all I must say that other than some stomach upset - I am managing better - yay!

what are these services price in at for the the private pay cash cost range? would you happen to know even if these were gifts? I am interested just ignorant of cost (within just a ballpark range) for each. I know it is heresy for me to think of paying ANYTHING outside of college tuition bills in this household of mine, but I am going to ask any way :) thanks.

Had a doctor who highly recommended acupuncture but with someone very skilled.

depot blue: My brother footed the bill so I have no idea of the cost - I looked up the clinic online and of course they don't publish the fees - I'm really not comfortable asking my brother - it would seem too ungrateful -
With my background in education I am always a little bit skeptical of claims from treatments that are good for almost every ailment imaginable - but because it brought me some relief - even for a short period of time - I am grateful and you can't beat that!
I'm sure others have a ballpark figure for acupuncture which is probably fairly general no matter where you live - but I'm not sure about the laser treatment - because that was totally new to me -
Hopefully someone can give you a general cost so that you can consider it. And congratulations for managing college and all of the stresses that it can cause - especially for someone with RA - it shows that you have a lot of commitment and motivation - stick it out and it will pay off in the long run!
