That's just me and I'm not on your meds. Sorry. I wish you luck with getting your meds asap!
Just 2 weeks ago I took my Humira and mtx on the same day. Everything was fine. I went out of town for the evening and wasn't able to get to my nieces house (my nurse, still to chicken to give it to myself) on Thurs, so took it with the mtx on Friday. I have also taken it a day early with no problems.
Good luck and hope you get it tomorrow!
Cindy
What a pickle. That's just not the way to treat people. Is it possible to get your in touch with your insurance and let them know how unhappy you are with your current Humira provider and you would like to change providers because of, being lied to, calling four days in a row, being put on hold for an inordinate amount of time, and incredible frustration.
I called my insurance company to let them know how unbelievably rude my CPAP supplier was. They allowed me to change suppliers in the city I live in and the new supplier is, so far, fantastic! Certainly, it was worth a phone call.
To answer your question Steph, my Rheumy told me in his office that I could pick whichever day of the week I wanted to dose myself with my biologic and MTX; including the same day of the week if I choose.
I did pick different days of the week because of the side effects. I am not providing advice but, if I was in your situation and they delivered my biologic late tomorrow, I would take the biologic immediately because it provides the greatest help for me. Three days later, I would change this to my new MTX date.
Either way it goes - I sure hope your meds are delivered very, very soon!
I hope you feel well,
TheWino
As far as taking them on the same day, I think if it were me I'd take the Humira as soon as I got it, and then wait a day or two to take the mtx, then rearrange from there before the next Humira dose is due. Of course, if the next day is an easy day where you don't have to do much, it might work taking them both together and then laying in bed watching movies all day! Sounds like you deserve a day of rest :)
Another action you can take is to call the State Office of Insurance Commissioner (or whatever your state calls that Office) and let them know what is going on. They will call your insurance, which is withholding medication that you need, and sometimes that can remarkable hasten them to send the medicine along. This one doesn't cost you anything but the call!
Hope that you don't have to use these steps and have already got your meds!
i usually have a relaxing day the day after mtx, which is why i take it on saturday; i always have sunday off. i don't experience any side effects from humira, so i think i'll take both today. thanks cindy for sharing your experience :)
