Mix 1/2 Lamisil and 1/2 hydrocortisone cream and apply a thin layer to the area as soon as you notice that it is a the start of another fungal infection. You can get both of these at your pharmacy over the counter. I am a nurse and I use to work with immuno-compromised cancer patients. One of our internal medicine doctors ordered this 1:1 ratio. Do not premix and set aside in a jar. Just mix 1/2 and 1/2 in your hand and apply then wash your hands very well to prevent spreading it to another area of your body. You can also purchase Hibiclens (comes in a small green bottle in the antiseptic wound care area of your pharmacy) and bath with this chin to toes with onset of outbreak and repeat every 3 days until healed. It's not a soap that lathers. You only need a very small amount 15ml (1/2 medicine cup) and apply to your skin then shower off. I hope you find these tips helpful. Best wishes.

Hi, I was recently diagnosed with R.A., and am realizing how ignorant I am. when you say "fungus outbreaks", are you getting spots on your skin? Like Ringworm? I keep getting ringworm-like spots, and I am the only one in the family getting them...so, I've been scratching my head at it - but is it related to R.A.?

I have the fungus under my breasts, Really sucks. The doctor gave me a powder,that smells awful, but kind of works. also use ammens powder, from the drug store. Can't remember which bio gave this to me, but it never goes away.(it looks like a rash) When it clears up and I take mxt, it starts all over again. When it gets really bad I use fluocinonide. You get that from the doctor,it's a cream. That almost clears it up , and I start all over again when I take my mtx.

I also have geographic tongue. Ever seen that? No cure for that. Just another side effect they don't tell you about. Doesn't hurt, just looks weird.

My rheumy had no idea what was on my tongue, my general doctor knew right away. He said it was from the RA, yet the RA doctor never heard of it. So confusing!


I'm going to try Chelleys cure. I've tried hydrocortisone cream to no avail, but not the lamisil with it.

Mine doesn't look like ringworm Mickey, it looks like a rash, but it looks like the skin is missing on each bump. But it's flat not raised up. And red or like now, it's almost cleared up, so it's not as red. Now tomorrow mtx, and oh boy,I get to start all over again. I really don't mind that much, I rather have this than be sick with a cold.

I have had a fungus issue under my breasts. Since RA, I sweat.....a lot, when I just get a little warm. I am going to follow Chelley's adivce. So nice to have an RN here!
