I understand what you mean. I must shop for new insurance, and get out of Kaiser. Three Rhuematoligists are telling me that I do not have RA in my feet. Every appointment, I show them where the bones in my feet are moving. Inflammation is visible. They all agree that I have RA all over, but have doubts about my feet. Even got an MRI, that I paid for. Latest Rhuemy now wants to have it read by "their" reader. A little logic would be helpful.

Oh yeah-I love drs or anyone for that matter that think that just because they may be smarter than someone else,that they have to ACT that way too

First of all sorry I didn't get back to my post had some internet trouble and thank you all for your concern. I've been having knee troubles and hip troubles I'm just frustrated because I spoke to my surgeon before he performed a recent arthroscopy and he clearly said that age was not a factor for him when deciding to do replacement surgeries he believed in restoring quality of life. I was relieved that he felt that way. Anyway my arthriscopy showed no cartilage in patella (bone on bone.) he told my famy while I was in recovery that there were two options partial replacement or OATS proceedure which he didn't think would work for me because of RA. Well so I tried to set up replacement surgery and now he says he wants me to talk to his college who does OATS (they take plugs of bone and cartilage from one area and pit it in the defect) before he will do anything else. Frustrating because the OATS is strict non weight bearing for 6 weeks I have a two story house and my only bathrooms are upstairs and the RA pain in shoulders elbows hands and wrists will not allow me to put ALL of my undesirable weight on them. My upper body just won't be able to do it. I told the dr that is why I want to just do replacement and he still insists that I talk to the other dr. Soo I go tomorow and I guess it's up to him to make the call about what is best for me. Thus frustration. Sorry this was so long but I wanted to be specific this time.

Hi Kimberley, good Lord, that Oats procedure sounds very intense. Can you get a second opinion on that. I do pray that you will be pain free. I think a second opinion is in order. Please keep us posted.
