Foot Pain

I have been having problems with the bottom of my feet. ( the Sole of my Feet). They have a burning sensation. Everytime I get up from sitting awhile, it takes a little while to get feeling back in my feet. Not really feeling more like circulation, I guess. It's hard to describe. They are very red and alittle warm to the touch. If I walk for awhile then I am ok, until I sit down and get up again. I hike alot and am ok, but then I sit and get up and there we go again. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi not sure what that could be, but i have back probs, and spinal stenosis, which could affect my feet. I did take Lyrica in the past. And i have special cork, soft orthotics, and i really can't wear any stiff shoes anymore..they tell me the fat pad on sole of feet, are thin from RA.

Do they feel a bit numb, like from nueropathy,? because numbness can burn and hurt

But please mention this to your rheummy, not exactly sure what this could be..Take care

Hi Bigi. I had terrible burning in my feet for years, making walking and standing for long periods of time almost unbearable. The pain was excruciating and caused me to have to 'measure my daily steps', so to speak. Things that used to take lots of time walking like grocery shopping, had to be quick! I lived on OTC painkillers for years.
Last year, I was finally diagnosed as having Polymyalgia Rheumatica, This caused the pain and burning in my legs and feet, among other things.....even my dizziness was caused by it! Within 24 hours of starting on Prednisone I had instant, joyous relief! My doctor explained that Polymyalgia often occurs along with Rheumatoid and is instantly relieved by Prednisone. If you're not taking Prednisone, maybe you should consider asking your doctor about Polymyalgia as a possible cause for the burning soles.
Presently, I'm working on getting my Rheumatoid A. under control. I wish that it could be fixed as quickly as the Polymyalgia was!
