FMLA help or advice

Okay guys. I haven't seen this topic discussed yet.

I would give background but I do not want to broadcast my situation on the interwebs because this could get serious... So I'm just going to leave it like this...

Does anyone have any experience with FMLA rights and employers? Do you have a good site where I can get educated on their rights, and mine?

I know I'm being vague, but I am having a problem, or might be having a problem. Wouldn't mind hearing some stories. Maybe they can help me, and others.

in order to be eligible you have to work for a covered employer. a covered employer is normally an employer with 50 employees or more.

then move onto HR at your employer and see if you can get their personnel manual that covers their facets of it, if you feel safe..everyone is in a different stage of outing their disease at work:)

The first day I had to call in sick due to my RA (first time I called in sick in 15 years) I got one started. The day after when I went back to work I asked HR if they needed a note from my doctor for my absence. When I said it was due to RA the HR girl told me to fill out the FMLA form and get it back to her.

After I submitted the form, she told me that when I call in sick due to the RA to only call into HR as that was how it would be kept confidential.

Not getting into details, but that move was one of the best I made in my journey with RA.

I should have said that I do already have FMLA. I could use a non legal-ese website, if anyone has one.
