I just got my morning meds and NO PREDNISONE!! It ran out with no one giving me a heads up or re-prescribing!!

WHAT FREAKIN INCOMPETENT, THOUGHTLESS MORONS! (Fortunately, I had come with my own stash)

And luckily I check my meds before just chucking them down!! Not a single word that there was a need to refill!!! And they care for many patients - MOST patients here in the facility I'm in - who have no ability to be anything near their own advocate!! You are talking about a spoon-fed, drooling, glazed over or screaming population that they are serving here. REALLY SCARY! Do they forget people's critical heart meds so casually??

I'm dealing with anxiety of a situation now (nothing to your level though) and I had my feet, left wrist and shoulder start swelling, hurting and locking on Friday evening. My diet had been controlled so that wasn't it. The barometer is up and down pretty drastically here in South AL this time of the year so I'm striking it up to stress and weather. Basically bathed in Frankincense over the weekend and did nothing but nap through basketball and I was better Monday and almost normal (relatively speaking) today.

Alright Gal, pay attention: it's time for you to get your head up and focus on the prize of HOME. I know it hurts, we all know it but I bet that you've already been through much worse previously in your life and maybe in more adverse conditions. It's only pain, no stranger to you, you can and you will handle it. Quit thinking about the process of travel and bringing anxiety onto the situation, head up and focus HOME.

You'll get through it, I'll get through it, we'll all get through it!

Good advise. I WILL push through it, I'm just PISSED OFF right now. Infuriated!

Always get a thorough health assessment and an all clear from your doctor BEFORE setting sail - both to and fro.

UPDATE: Med. issue resolved. Walking on crutches. Slower than on walker & hurt hands & wrists. Not sure about them on a moving airplane...but more compact.

Linzsey - all was clear to go. Fall totally unexpected and could have happened anywhere.

Lesson to learn:

1. Check your health insurance before you travel out of the country.
2. Check the fine print on any travel insurance you purchase
3. Don't fly economy class on long flights!

AND NOW - prednisone insomnia!!

Klonopin and Benadryl to the rescue - slept!

Feeling OK. My marvelous friends back home are picking me up at the airport, filling my fridge and cupboards with food, charging my car which has been sitting for 2 months.... My daughter arranged for a visiting nurse... and my son here will get me to the airport and set up with a curbside wheelchair!

doing well on crutches. slow but good!

My flight home is Tuesday the 20th!! FIVE DAYS (not that I'm counting, but I am!)

I already have a follow-up apt with an orthopedic surgeon the day after I return and the following day my infusion - YAY!! The following week - bone density test. And I have to reschedule a basal cell removal that was supposed to happen in Feb.
