Took my first dose of MTX yesterday morning because i have a long week end. I was worried about getting sick after my first dose so thought that would work just in case. Did not have a problem with it ....I am so excited about that! I have heard so many bad things that this was a wonderful surprise for me. Now i just can't wait for the pain to ease up. How long does that usually take to tell if it is working? My doctor did not say anything about Folic acid either. I am worried about the possibility of hair loss! It took a couple weeks to notice a slight difference and then some improvement after that, however, I recently began Humira because the MTX alone just wasn't cutting it and my rheumy likes to be aggressive. She was adamant about taking Folic Acid except on the days I take the MTX. I think you might want to ask your doc about that.
