Your CRP is in normal range, I believe, and your Sed Rate is elevated. These two tests are used to indicate the presence of inflammation in the body and various health issues can cause them to rise. Did your doctor also run Rheumatoid Factor (RF) and anti-CCP?

I wouldn't get too excited about the numbers. Thirty percent of all people with RA start with all those numbers at zero. I was really bad, with huge flares in about 80 joints, and it took 4 doctors to tell me I had severe RA.

I would hope most doctors are better informed today, and realize that sero-negative does not mean you don't have the disease. If you have very bad joint pain, including swollen joints then you may have RA.

Talk to your rheumatologist about the possibility of being sero-negative. In the old days, doctors diagnosed by symptoms and in my opinion it was a better system. For a while, they thought sero-negative indicated that the RA was only mild. I am not sure how this came about, I just know that I had huge flares, in every joint, and joint damage in those early years, when nothing was done, because I was incorrectly diagnosed.
