Does your finger feel cold to you? The most likely cause is Raynaurd's syndrome. It is an auto-immune disease that frequently occures along with RA, and causes the small blood vessels in your fingers and toes, sometimes nose and ears, to not carry enough blod through, so they turn white, and they may even turn blue. Preventative meaures should be taken. Wear gloves is it is cold out, and socks. Keep your hands and feet warm, as cold can set off an attack. Beware of frostbite. If you fingers and toes are already cold and white or blue, warm them quickly. This is important, especially if they have turned blue.
Ask your Rheumy the next time you see him/her about this. It is usally more of a nuisance issue than harmful...or seems so compared to RA.

Dont ignore this. It sounds like Raynauds and Raynauds can be very nasty. It is autoimmune too and it is actually lucky you have RA as Raynauds is associated with scleroderma, a much worse auto immune disease. Well its not usual for someone to say you can be lucky to have only RA but at least we can get drugs and some help to avoid a number of the worst effects.

Inkjoy's advice good. If you can get silk liner gloves they are helpful too. Good luck.

Are they checking for interstitial cystitis?
It can cause similar symptoms as a UTI and is often associated with autoimmune disease.

Your white fingers might very well be from Raunaud's penomenon or disease. Do they turn white as they become cold or when you touch a cold surface? And, if you don't warm them, do the turn purple? Probably Raynaud's, which unto itself, is usually benign, as long as you take precautions, like gloves, warm socks, hat or ear muffs, and even something like a ski mask, to cover your nose, if you live in a cold climate. As Camba mentioned, there can be a tie to scleraderma, but I think that's pretty rare. Check with your doc if you're concerned.
