Finally received my Rituxan treatment today 02/12/

Hi folks after all the pain and drama of having to wait for the Rituxan treatment since the end of January, due to a week of the flu, a 3 day virus and then throat infection, and bad fall a week and a half ago along with bad east coast weather, I was finally able to obtain it today. Yeah!!. The solumedrol dose that you receive along with the Rituxan kicks in right away so I am not stiff. I do have a wicked headache and I believe that has happened with me before with Rituxan. I have migraines as well. Next time I will pre-medicate with my headache medication. The headache is so bad that I can barely see, and the meds are not touching it. I am trying to do things on the computer because I am wide awake. But it beats RA severe pain and stiffness. Not complaining just glad I was able to receive the medication (Rituxan). In two weeks I get the second dose.

Orencia would give me headaches too sometimes, for 2 or 3 days, they told me there was something they could add to the infusion for that. But my headaches finally went away. I guess it takes awhile to get use to it. You can ask your rhuemy about that stuff they add. Infusions really messes with your sinuses. But like you said it's worth it, to have no pain all month.

I went to rhuemy yesterday, he suggested me taking those new pills that just came out. 2000.00 a month, the side effects are worse though, your immune system is more vulnerable, but he says they work well. I told him my insurance pays 100% for my infusion, I'm sticking to that. Lol. But it's good to know there is something else. My orencia is still working, just had a little inflammation still going on.

I think next time I get the dose in two weeks I will pre-medicate with my migraine headache medication. The headache lasted from 2pm - 4am and it kept me up all night. Slept for three hours then went to work and I was a mess and the headache returned. Oh boy. had a good night sleep last night and feel better over all. I know it is the pre-medication of the solumedrol that gets you moving. But I am grateful for that. Thank you guys for your support.
