I know that feeling. There are so many little bones and joints in your feet and they all seem to flare up at once so you can't tell what joint hurts. I tell people that it feel like walking barefoot on a bed of broken glass. An ice pack sometimes helps but basically you just have to stay off them until it fades.

I described it as walking on golf balls everyday. Some days the golf balls are on fire and some days they have spikes!

NOT diagnosing but google neuroma. I used to get it - feels like walking on hot coals. Mine went away by itself.

Both feet; I don't wear high heels or shoes too small for my feet (especially since RA diagnosis) and lookie at this: "All patients of Morton’s neuroma should be checked for other musculoskeletal conditions (such as rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatoid nodules). Rheumatoid nodules may co-exist with Morton’s neuroma." I guess these are nodes then in the balls of my feet ?

My feet were also the worst place for many years. Rheumatologists actually call this issue, "walking on marbles." So your description is very close.

I remember standing in line at a bank one day. The line was long, and I had one person left in front of me. The pain was overwhelming and I started to cry and then sob. People thought I was a weirdo. Lucky for them they never experienced that.

Mine was originally diagnosed as neuroma, before I got my RA diagnosis. A surgeon was going to remove some of the largest bumps. Fortunately for me, he died the day before my surgery. But bad for him.

I wore high heels long before RA, and it never bothered me. But one RA started, it was wearing slippers and Birkenstock sandals, and Ugg boots in winter.

I would hazard a guess those nodes are RA nodules. Be sure to point them out to your rheumatologist on your next visit. He is the one to say for sure.

Yep, pain. The growing "thing" between the base of the third and forth toe on each foot sometimes feels as if the foot (feet) is splitting down towards the heel. And of course, those little pea sized hard things under the feet and on the sides. I must be a little better right now though, haven't yelled in pain when I first stand on my feet in the morning in several weeks.

Mine is under control. I never think to bring it up at the rheumatologist's office because I'm wearing my trusty Skechers [a size too big, but lots of cusion in the sole]. When it bothers me is when I get in the shower. OWWWWW!

Yup. All sounds familiar. Getting out if bed and standing VERY CAREFULLY with my hand on the wall for support. Used to just hurt in the AM, but now it's constant. Not scheduled to see new doc (mine was "dismissed ") till January and I don't even know who it will be! As if y'all didn't already know: damn RA sucks. My life has changed very quickly. I'm glad for this group. My info and vent place.
