There are times that my feet start to feel numb, especially by the toe area and then the toes feel numb also. Is this part of the RA or is this something else? I see my rheumy on the 12th.

Mine do that if I cross my legs for too long. I haven't figured out if it's because of my knee or my hip though.

And by "too long".. I mean maybe 5 minutes or so and i get those I'm-going-numb tingles

I have a strange tingling or vibration type feeling in my feet and sometimes my hands. At times my feet will feel incredibly hot I can't stand it that it almost hurts. When I physically touch them, they aren't hot. I also have numbing up my calf. All this started sometime after I became sick, not sure if after prednisone, Rituxan, Arava or just from disease process.

I told my rheumy and he talked about neuropathy and I had the nerve tests about 3 mos ago. I have to say I was a big baby and had to stop the test before he could finish. But he said he got enough to know I didn't have the terrible things he was looking for and also no neuropathy however sounded like it could be the beginnings.

Looks like the tests may not pick up anything when you first start noticing symptoms maybe or I'm experiencing something else but what else that could be I don't know! So have to be retested in about a year or so if I still have symptoms but I think if it's bothering me enough I'll just ask for the med and skip the test!

I hope your symptoms pass they certainly are a bother

I looked it up and yes, I need to see a neurologist. But it is just another specialist bill that my insurance won't pay. Last 2 months I paid out over $600.00. That hurts on a fixed income. But if it needs to be done, I'll have to come up with the money somehow. Thanks for all of the comments. It means a lot to me. You all are a great group of people and I am so glad I found this site!

Sally, my insurance does not pay for any office call for a specialist of any kind. The only office call they pay partially for is my PCP. The insurance also does not pay for cortisone shots either. It really stinks!

My feet and toes are almost always numb or just hurt. the tops of my feet have been swollen too. Sitting in an uncorfortable chail, like the one at work makes it worse or if I walk any distance. The doc says I need to let Cimzia take efect- its been 8 weeks. I guess we'll see....
