I went to my Rheumy Appt. today and they still are at a loss of what to do with me. My Knee is very swollen to the point that I can't drive and barely walk. I have a lot of fluid and basically no cartliage. On top of all that I developed a slight fever starting yesterday. It is low grade 99.3 and it comes and goes. No other symptoms such as nausea, etc... I am just in a lot of pain and the Dr. thinks the fever is from the pain.
Anyway, he told me to stop taking the mtx and just use the Enbrel and start again with 20mg of Pred and taper down to 5mg and then stay there for awhile. The reason for dropping the mtx is, because my Liver goes up when I am on Pred and they think the mtx along with the Pred is not a good combo in my case. My liver has never gone up from the mtx just the Pred, which he says is unusual, b/c none of his Patients have any problem taking Pred and Liver enzymes going up.I am at a loss, b/c I do not want to keep taking the Pred, but nothing seems to work to get the sewlling down and that is the only thing that works.
Do any of you have any fever, and what is your thought about all this. I am just fishing for similar problems any of you may have or had that will help me understand.
