Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...
I don't seem to get the super intense single joint flare from hell much anymore - you know the type - a joint will sell up to at least twice it size and render it totally immobile with intense pain. But what I do get a lot of now is immobilizing fatigue and as you say my bones just ache. That bone aching is about as bad as an intense tooth ache.
I've just kind of passed it off as a side symptom of the RA but I don't read much about this here. I wanted to post to say yes - I get the same thing!
Just for comparison sake, I take Enbel (15 weeks now), Methotrexate (4 tabs a week), Folic Acid (2 a day) and Prednisone (5mg a day)
If that doesn't show anything, a neurologist may be in my future.
MethylPREDNISolone 8MG-2 tablets twice a day and the pain completely went away the next day!! My Rhuemy said my liver was not able to absorb the regular Prednisone and the new one works in a different way. Just saying you might want to run this past your Rhuemy. My Rhuemy said I am only the 2nd patient that she had to prescribe this for. I am starting on Humira tomorrow so I will be tapering off of the Pred. soon. Hope this helps it never hurts to ask.....blessings and hugs.
I thought I was tired, but we just had an emergency alert for severe thunderstorms with ping pong ball sized hail and 60 mile an hour winds. I ran out to get our flowers off the railing, and the wind kicked up so hard, it blew our umbrella so hard that it shattered our glass deck table into a zillion pieces, and I was covered in glass. I have all kinds of small cuts and little pieces of glass sticking out everywhere. Fortunately, it didn't get in my eyes, but all around my face. Boo hoo, I don't know who I offended out there, but I wish they would relent! Too many bad things happening; it can only get better from here! Please pray, this isn't over. It sounds like the wind is going to blow our house down, and I'm here alone with the dogs!
It can hurt head to toe. Deep deep aching pain.
The fatigue is an exhaustion that has me feeling faint &/or dizzy at times to the point I'll slur my words.
It also occurs if I'm going coming off Prednisone from long term use.
I had to reduce & skip the day of my surgical procedure. The pain was unreal. Not one place in my body was pain free. To move anything in my body took all my effort.
I'm so sorry your going through this. Best to rule any other causes out.
This is the second time I've read about another med substituted for Prednisone. Interesting enough to look into. I find the Prednisone does not always hold if I'm on any great length of time.
Wow Journey that is scary. We've been hit this summer with some wicked storms. Hail like I've never seen. The weather has been crazy. From scorching heat to very very cool July days & nights.
Just never know if it will be 90 degrees plus or 70.
Hope things get better for everyone
Sammy
I hope e erroneous has low pain and high energy today; we can always hope, huh?
