Hello my friends. Just had a couple questions about oils. I read a post earlier that Sammy posted that stated she uses them so maybe she will chime in. Talked to my sister on the phone this morning and she said that she had just bought a high quality essential oil kit. It came with several different oils and some kinda humidifier and a book that came with it for reference. She has only used it a couple times since she has had it so she really don't know how effective it's gonna be. I'm gonna also add that she doesn't have ra but uses this stuff for minor ailments since they have oils for every kinda illness. Lol. She knows I have been struggling with the ra meds and not getting much relief and is always looking to help out any way she can. She said she would buy the starter kit for me and send it my way if I thought it would help. I don't want her to waste any money since it's kinda expensive stuff. I told her that I would ask around the board to some of my ra buddies and see if anyone else has used them and had any success with them. She said her book labeled several different oils for ra. Couple of them being wintergreen, and peppermint. There were more but I can't remember the names of them. Some of them are so strong they are diluted with coconut oil to keep them from burning or affecting the skin in a bad way. Some are rubbed on the affected area, some are breathed in and some you can actually put into a capsule and taken orally. My questions are have any of you all tried these with any success? Is this something that could interfere with my current medications? Most of these are things that you would get through your diet but not at the strength the oils provide. I would for sure run this by my rheumatoid before hand. This is all new to me and I don't know much about it. I love talking to my sis but she lives about 3 hours away so I don't see her as much as I wished I could. I have to say that she is one in my family that does understand what I'm dealing with here. Now menthal is an active ingredient in most sore muscle/joint cremes. It is the active ingredient found in the mint family. It is what causes those products to make your skin feel hot then cold. I even have a peppermint body lotion that does that.

Yes I use Young Living for topical. Less expensive brand for diffusing.
They are strong oils. Compared to many on the market.
Wish I could say without a doubt they will help but as with everything we are all different. They do soothe & are wonderful for sinus, colds etc...heck they have to many uses to name.for example Eucalyptus can be used for dust mites. There's an oil bible that lists all the uses.
I stick with a hand full & their household cleaner.
They make a blend called deep relief. Very popular.
Can't tell you how many times my sister went to order it only to find it out. That should tell you something. Oddly enough it contains those 2 oils as part of the blend.
Using with moist heat can be very soothing.
Expensive but a little goes a long long way. Quality is everything with oils.
My sister orders for friends & family. Not for profit. She said she's had more requests this year then ever.
Doubtful you would not find use for them so you have nothing to loose by trying.
As I've stated before I love diffusing the oils. You'd want to use a carrier for diffusing if it's the older model.
I firmly believe they have saved my grandson from trips to the doctor.
Clears his congestion up nicely.

Diffusing I do stand by. Just diffused for my grandson. He's just shy of 3 yrs old. His little friend got sick & sure enough he joined in. Put the diffuser on woke up much less congested. Went without this diffuser when the glass piece broke.
The biggest doubting Thomas (my husband) noticed the difference when he & my grandson were sick & no diffuser.
It's not a "cure all" but sure helps.
My sister has had more requests this year then ever. Most are the Same people who have used oils in the past. Thinking they would not purchase something they found useless in the past.
Like with everything depends on the person.
Quality is everything with oils. I do not sell nor does my sister sell for profit.
PW hope you have a positive experience. Keep in mind applying moist heat in addition can be very soothing.
