Sorry your having trouble with the Enbrel.

Thank you for posting your side effects since I may be starting Enbrel next week. That will help me make my decision to try it or not. I have had similar reactions to MTX so I expect a similar reaction to Enbrel.

I understand what you are saying... I know if I stay on some meds they seem to get better with time.

I would at least call your doctor and let him know what is going on and then tell him like you did us... that you want to stay on it for a while longer to see if it will get better with time. He might think that would be ok to do... He might take the prednisone down to 10 or 5 mg and see if that would help. Hope the Enbrel will work for you.

I feel your pain- Enbrel gave me awful headaches for about half of each week.

Are you seeing any improvement in joint pain?

Hmmmm, I'm probe to headaches and had none on Enbrel.

It seems like I have more frequent and severe headaches with the Enbrel. But the Enbrel has done a great deal for me as far as the RA goes so I am willing to stay on it.

Enbrel had put me in Remission for 4 years. No side effects. Just a little site bruising from injecting.

Sometimes I get a dull headache the next day after my shot. You should talk to your doctor about that. Usually people don't get much side effects from Enbrel. You might be allergic to it.

Hi - I had my first Enbrel injection last week. I am prone to migraines but only had a bit of a headache after the injection and it didn't require any meds to get rid of it. Did get a little of an upset stomach the next day but that was all. I am very sensitive to medications so expected it to hit me hard but so far it hasn't. I hope when I do my next injection Saturday I will be just as lucky.

I will say to be sure Enbrel is at room temp. I have read it on here numerous times and it should be taken as gospel. My rheumy did my injection and it had sat out only about 20 mins - boy did it hurt. I will be sure mine is out about an hour before doing the shot.

Those sound like my symptoms for the first 6wks on mtx. But I had no side effects from Enbrel or Humira. Then again Enbrel wasn't a success for me but I did try it for 6mo before giving up. I definitely understand wanting to stick with a med even though the side effects are terrible.

I can't remember what the listed side effects are for Enbrel. But I would still mention it to your Dr and if he wants to change say you'd prefer to stay on it a while longer and see if things improve with time. If it's only been two weeks I don't think that's unreasonable. All of our meds have side effects some we just learn to tolerate more than others. Are you feeling any improvements yet? I know 2wks isn't long but I felt Humira working after the 1st dose. Some of that was. probably wishful thinking since it was my 1st bio but it was a miracle. for about a year.

I just noticed the date on this post. Have you talked to your rheumy yet? What's the verdict?
