You should NOT do it. Honestly, I wouldn't do it until you feel better. I've been on Enbrel two different times. The first, I had orders to not do it if I got sick. I was sick once then and skipped the entire week while I was down with a cold.
You still have Enbrel in your system, but at least you don't have a full dose at this point. Let your body get over the cold then inject.

My doctor reiterated not taking the regular dose if I got sick, even if it wasn't the type of cold that required a doctor. Better safe than sorry.

*reiterated this go around with Enbrel. Last time was 3yrs ago but nothing has changed - skip when sick.

Hi, it takes longer to get rid of a cold and it may become worse when you take a biologic while having a cold. I have been to my Rheumatologist with the beginning of a cold and have been turned away by him from receiving a biologic if I have a cold. I end up having to reschedule. So rule of thumb is to hold off biologics when ill. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks for the reinforcement, everyone. I called the Enbrel hotline and the nurse there (believe it or not) said she could not tell me what to do. She said to ask my doc. So, I sent an email to my RA doc and the reply came back "Since the Enbrel weakens your immune system, it's best to wait until your symptoms have resolved, since colds often develop over the course of 3-4 days with worsening symptoms."

So, looks like I'll be skipping my injection this week. Thanks again for your input!
