I'd like to know if anyone else has had problems using Enbrel. I started last month and after my 2nd injection I got shingles. They were very minor, thank God, and so I started up again...per Dr order to use Enbrel again. So...I feel really horrible. I used it Sunday and right away I felt sick. Today is Tuesday and my leg has a huge welt and it's so painful. I feel so tired, I have no energy, no appetite, chills, just sick. Do all the injections do this? Thanks for your input!

I never had any problems like that, you better call your doctor.

I have been using Embrel since and never had a side effect except the site reaction. By the way, the site reaction is much less if you give the injection in the stomach.

I have never had a reaction to any of the biologics that I have been on,
including Enbrel. The only problem I have had is that they stop working after a while. I hope you have contacted your doctor by now. hope all is well with you. Biologics or at least Enbrel may not be for you.

Never had a problem with Enbrel or Humira other than not working for me.......I used the auto inject pen and now I use a 27 pre-loaded needle for Kineret. The auto inject can be a little rough and I did my in the thigh and when I pinched it bruised and hurt my leg, I also learned by touch not pushing as hard during the injection.
Some posters said they liked to ice the area after an injection but I never tried that.
I would presume you are taking some other meds to jump start the Enbrel?
Again, my friends wife uses Enbrel and she is back to light jogging and playing tennis, so it works for some people but it does take a while.

Thanks everyone! I called my Doctor and she said that next week on the day I'm supposed to take my shot to take Claritin and then also the next day. I'm feeling alot better today. I've been putting ice on the injection site and it's helped alot. Thanks for all the support!
