I'm sorry guys I feel like I haven't been a positive contribution to our site here lately but I'm so frustrated! Y'all know my hips have been positively bratty, I have started enbrel and its helping smaller joints. But not some bigger ones I put a call in to dr 2 c if u can up my meth. But I have nodules on my voice box and I keep getting a cough and loosing my voice I have had bronchitis 2 xs in 2 months and have had my voice back for a grand total of one week now gone again. It makes me feel so alone. I have to struggle to repeat myself if I try to talk so I wind up not talking and feel shut off from the free world. I know I have the nodules but I also gave found out that I have a decent size goiter with my thyroid u wonder if that has anything to do with it? I also found out my cousin with lupus who gas already gone through a transplant is loosing her one kidney and is going on donor list. So I love her and know I don't have it that bad but it amplifies my feelings of guilt like wat right do I hav to b upset about my self wen she is gonna die. Anyway sorry just had to talk

Oh Kimberley, I'm so sorry! I know you're having a really rough time of it. I wish there was something I could do to help you. Dealing with joint pain alone is tough...then you start adding the other factors and it would put anyone over the edge. Take care of yourself and let go of everything that isn't in your control. I'll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers!

Your thyroid can definitely effect your voice box. If it is swollen it can push on your voicebox. I have an under active thyroid and always get conjestion around my thyroid. Have you gotten your thyroid checked?

I too, am sorry you are going through this. We are researching Enbrel for me, since I have liver disease, my doc does not know if I can take it. Are your nodules related to your meds? I wonder because I have been having ulcers in the back of my throat this month and I wonder if it is related to meds. I am only on prednisone, Plaquenil and NSAIDS.
(also, when discussing what other meds we might give me, he asked if I've ever had thyroid problems, so I am assuming, the RA meds have issues with that???

I don't want to nit pik with you but I giggled when you said you wanted to up your meth. "meth" is a street drug (speed) and I don't recommend saying you take Meth. LOL.
I noticed around here, when people want to abbreviate it, they say MTX. Hang in there ! This too shall pass.

I have had it checked that the nodules on my voice box are from RA. and the thyroid I am waiting on a great deal if labs to come back but I had a sonogram it is very enlarged mt TSH was low but I don't have definite diagnosis yet. But I bet between the two it's making things very hard on my voice. Also feels like my throat is swollen very tight. And I wasn't exactly sur if the abbreviation on mtx but I knew you guys would know what I meant. Also just had the dr increase me to 6 of that mayb it will help my hips glad I could make someone giggle tho.
