Any change in pain levels is because you have very mild Ra. Once it ramps up to moderate or severe, you'll find that food products do nothing to help anymore.
Be happy you have mild Ra and that food changes are helping you right now. I lost that battle about 35 years ago.
You can take it in capsules, but I found they bothered my sensitive stomach. I love curry, and use tumeric all the time. But it is a spice not a medicine to me!
and it's great if you are swapping it out for harmful crap like salt. so keep eating it, in spice form if it floats your boat.
