Maybe the Humira will help you... I have been on it for 1 year and am doing much better... I also take mtx for the last 2 years...But I was able to drop the prednisone shortly after starting Humira.

First prednisone is really a tough drug for some and I being one of people. I could only take it for a few months then my doctor took me off of it. I am diabetic too but I am on insulin. I was having problems with my blood sugar reading as they were going up and up... since diabetes is also an autoimmune disease. It seems when my immune systems goes haywire it affects both my RA and Diabetes. I am on Mtx and Plaquenil and it seems that the Plaquenil lowers my blood sugars. One drug can take it up and one can bring it down. So just be careful if your doctor would add Plaquenil to your drug combo.
