Disability doc today!

He started out saying things like"What makes doctors think you have RA?"and everything would say he made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. However when he started testing me he heard cracking sounds in my knees. He made comments about my neck having restrictions and he commented about it hurting me to lean on my toes and that it shouldn't be as bad on my heals. I was unsteady taking the balancing test.
As I was leaving he said 'Hopefully this will help you, good luck and take care'. Do yall think this meant he was voting yes for disability? Also does anyone have an idea on how long it should take to hear back from SSD?

Aren't you glad it is over? From what you say, it sounds like your exam was pretty hopeful and positive.

I am sure every state has a different time frame (and backlog) for handling disability cases. I got my disability award about a month after my exam. Then it seemed like forever to get past my waiting period for the checks to arrive. Wishing you success and hope that they make a favorable decision asap.

In the state of Texas you have to be off work for 6 months before its granted. I was taken off work in Jan 09 Got denied May 09 approved June 09 received first check Aug 09, good luck to you i hope you receive it.

I got approved on the first try I didn't have to see a disability doctor so I have no idea how long it will take. This is how it was for me I stopped working March 5th I had the interview at social security office March 10th Then I was spproved by April 29th and I got my first check October 27th At the end of the month which is kinda weird. I know I was very lucky in my case and I was shocked to. Hopefully you will hear back within 30 to 60 days. I am hoping for you anyway.
