Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...
An anti-inflammatory diet uses some components that may have been shown to help with inflammation, individually and maybe in extraordinarily high amounts. These diets may overall be healthy for you and help you feel better by eating better foods and eliminating processed or high sugar foods that make you feel blah. But there is no support that these diets will significantly help with the inflammation of RA, or the severe pain that some people have. It's like David vs Goliath, but in this case Goliath wins.
I think eating naturally, as close to the way God created food is a good thing to do. I call it my "God diet." As opposed to a North American fast food diet. I've never been into that, and I don't eat meat, so it really isn't an option.
There are some people who swear by Paddison's Diet. I checked it 0ut, and you can't get access to it, unless you pay. So, no, I am not following it. If this diet is so good, you would think this RA suffer would be happy to share it with all of us. of course, I am not in his shoes, maybe he needs the money?
I hope it does work for you, but don't count on it. Until these diets are double blind tested, with proper controls, I am not going to believe it. And, who wants to go to the trouble of testing diet, when there is little reward if it does prove to be highly correlated?
A great diet is awesome for anyone... I also tried every herb, supplement, and IV out there.... I spent probably 50 thousand... YES I SAID FIFTY THOUSAND on these remedies and only when I got on the right RA medications did I start getting better. NO cured.. better. I can now work part time at least. And I can travel some now and work in my yard. I still have limits but at least now I have a life.
I would NOT go on RA meds for the first 2 years bc of fear of them. But I am more afraid of the disease now than I am of the meds. RA will kill you. I have few to no adverse effects on the meds. I have more problems w/ the RA than the meds will ever give me.
These are only my opinions and I have had this since 2009.
I had a woman approach me a few months ago.... she is a salesperson for a BIG company that sells a miracle herb.... she told me "THOSE MEDICATIONS WILL KILL YOU"... I kindly told her thank you but that she has not walked in my shoes... or anything.... I do not listen to ppl that do not have RA. Don't worry... her day will come.... maybe not with RA... but in some situation that NO ONE else really relates to and everyone had the magic cure.... I wished her well... but NO THANKS....
Best of luck to you. And sending many vibes of love and peace to you today. Sun
Hi-def, if you don't mind sharing, what's your Easter Medicine that's delivered to your door? That conjurs up all sorts of wild images. I'm curious to hear where your going. I had an Ayurvedic doctor for a long time, but that was mostly about selecting foods the fit (or didn't) my dasha. He had some "special" herbs, which I seasoned my food with, but that was the extent.
