I've been chronicling my disease progression with pictures ever since my injury and first flare last August and September. My hands look fairly normal to the outsider, but from my first flare to the recent pics I see something different. My middle left hand finger is the big noticeable issue I have. The mid knuckle, you know below the dip, that middle joint has rotated towards my thumb. So when I look down at this joint, hand spread out on a table, the lines over this middle joint are off center, and the apex of the joint has rotated towards the thumb slightly. This was NOT in my first ever flare pic back last September.
So is this a potential deformity, or can it be from swelling and will go back, potentially??
I am not well controlled right now, and am still stuck on 10mg prednisone if that info helps. Thx!

Also, I traced each hand and foot on a large sheet of paper. When I'm wondering about "changes", I retrace it in the same spot with a different color, label and date it. So far, (several years) it's really not changed much. It is a good tool for "at home" reassurance. :)
