The thing that helps me is I have a fluted roll bar I got from a physic. I put it under the instep and just roll it until the spasm stops. I also take tums, which strangely enough help. Something to do with not enough calcium in the muscles, or and acid/alkaline imbalance. I take other calcium for the bones, but it does not help.
For me it is not water because I drink more water then I ever have in my life. Also my potassium levels are in the normal range.
I would really like to know what causes mine. I know sometimes when my feet are really cold I get them. I am also a diabetic so I don't know it that has anything to do with it.
I have to get out of bed and press my foot and toes hard on the floor. Massaging the cramping area helps some after stomping on the floor.
I think there are enough complaints about the cramping on this site that we can legitimately blame RA!
