I've been using CBDs for about two years. I used the oral drops for about six months; it dialed the pain down. However, for me, the CBD lotions work the best. I used to have horrible hip pain at night. The CBD rub was recommended, so I put it on, and was able to sleep through the night. It does take the pain down, but I still need the meds from my doctor. Plus, I find if I switch to different brands and combinations, it is more effective. I use it every day throughout the day. It really helps reduce joint pain. If I know I'm going to use my hands a lot, I put the CBD lotion on first, and it does minimize the pain. I recommend at least trying it. Everyone that I have suggested try it, has had good results. It's just another tool to dial down the pain. CBD lotion has helped me get through this knee surgery. When my pain meds are wearing off, I use the lotion and I can make through.

We are from California and Medical cannabis is available to those in need. I will admit that the rules are quite loose on who can get a script but that is a whole different subject. For my family dynamic having my husband smoke pot all day for pain management was NOT a option. BUT... He does use the oils and lotions. The patches were a waste of money and the edibles help him sleep. He does not take pain medication so really this is all he has to help take the edge off. He does smoke on occasion but it is difficult because of the fact that we have children in the home still. It is very unfortunate that these options are not available to everyone. Used responsibly it can make a world of difference. I personally do not have knowledge of one type vs another I just know what has worked for him. Good luck with your search. The stigma attached to this type of pain management gets clouded by the Cheech and Chongs of the 70's . My husband and I are successful business owners, our 11 year old just finished a summer program at Cal Berkeley learning robotics our eldest is a Airborne Sgt. My point is seek what works and f what others think and say. You will not regret using the CBDs . If you are taking pain meds your body will thank you for giving it a break. Pain meds are harsh on the system.

I asked my doctor about using this. But because I have been under psychiatric care in the past, I am not allowed to use it. Not even the stuff with no THC. I was very disappointed. I just got off morphine, and some days, I wish I had more than Nycunta and prednisone. Funny how I am allowed to take opioids, but not cannibis.

Marlene - I too am on Prednisone and Nycenta!! They'll give you narcotics but not something fare less addictive!! What a system we have.

I have learned that CBD is legal in all 50 states. You do not need a doctor to prescribe it. You simply order it online. I am trying now to find a good source of TOPICAL cud - a lotion to apply to sore joints. I will try that first to help reduce the prednisone and depending on how well that works and where I am with getting a biologic to work - MAYBE consider taking CBD ingestible.

Trouble is that with it NOT being prescribed, it is all out of pocket and the lotion is $50. I wonder if its worth it or if I might as well stick to Aspercream?

Warrior gal, the lotion that I PMed you is expensive, but it lasts for many months (4 to 5, sometimes longer) And I use it all the time. You only need a tiny amount. I've used a lot of brands and found that one to be the best. However, while on vacation, I found a pain lotion with all natural ingredients, no CBDs, and it is amazing. It has Arnica, Emu Oil, and many other herbal remedies. I gave some as gifts, and so far, everyone loves it! I'll PM you the name.
