I used to have pretty feet, as far as feet go that is. now I have those knot things on both feet on both sides. sometimes they pain me. I am getting something similar to that on my elbow. I am still waiting for my first visit with a rheumatologist. I have not been diagnosed with anything yet. I hope to get some answers. My lumps/bumps/bunions are hard and immobile. they can be rather tender sometimes. Just the sheets being on them can be too much. other than some days it can be an angry red, and others not be red, it doesnt do anything else. I have never heard of one getting infected.

I have those too. My Rhuemy told me that because the MRI of my feet shows no damage to the bones, my biologic medication will reduce the size or maybe even make the bunions go away.

I had a bunion on my right foot since my 20s. The pain was better or worse, depending upon my shoes :). About six years ago, it went from bad to worse, and I had bunion surgery.

It was the best thing I have ever done :) I can't believe I lived with the pain for that many years.

This was all prior to my Dx of RA.

Google rheumatoid nodules & see if there are similarities. They aren't caused by any type of infection and shouldn't delay your infusion or anything. They're an accumulation of synovial fluid under the skin. They're commonly on joints and can be from the size of a pea to a walnut. They aren't usually painful unless they're in an area where they rub against something like a shoe and get irritated.

I did look at pictures of bunionettes
and that is what it looks like. I have friends with bunions
And they said it looks like that also. I found the reference

Now I have a bump on the side of my 4th toe on right foot! ! This is so strange. .. in 3 weeks my feet have become lumpy! I'll ask my Rheumatologist on Monday when to go from my simponi if she thinks ra related or just have ugly feet now. I know the toe didn't look like this last week as I did my nails. .. oh well. .

I have had RA for almost 20 years and about a year ago I developed nodules under my big toes - right at the joint. Was told by the foot doctor that it was a direct result of RA. Nothing you can do about it - unless you want surgery to remove them. They don't pain me so I try not to focus on my feet getting ugly

Related.. she said I should see a podiatrist just in case. . They don't hurt..just ugly.. another lovely gift from ra I guess.
