During my last flare...toes on right foot... the top of my right thigh started stinging, burning, hurting. I actually ignored it, like I do all my pains, for a few days. Then it got to hurting so bad I finally looked to see what was going on. A blood vessel was blown...maybe more than one. It was pretty wicked looking.

Is this normal with rheumatoid disease?
...anyone else have this happen?

Just wondering if this is something I have to look forward to.

I'm not sure exactly but that happens to me in my fingers a lot. And just recently experience a little broken vein on underside of my forearm. Hope you feel better I would talk to your dr about it as soon as you can. Blessings, Kim

Had this happen to a hand last spring. Half of it turned purple with some swelling and pain for no reason. Looked so wicked, principal didn't question me leaving during last period planning to go to walk-in for xrays.

Of course nothing showed up in xrays (I do get stress fractures in feet with similar symptoms that also don't show up - until after they heel).... So the nurse practitioner diagnosed me with a 'hurt hand'.

Football coach actually gave me the best advice which was to keep moving it. This got rid of the bruise and swelling fairly quickly.

Still don't know why I get severe bruises without cause - yet when I think I should get a serious bruise because of a hard bump.. I never do...

At first I thought this was shingles...then I realized it was a blown vein. After the red and purple started disappearing, the bruising strarted. Just crazy!

This has taken longer than normal to heal...I'll watch that in the future...good to know...thank you.

I just never realized the impact this disease carries.
