Yes! My ankles hurt like this sometimes. It's very painful and hurts especially at night. Prednisone helped with that. Feel better soon!

Yes, I also feel this way during a flare. Someone at work tapped my shoulder to sat hello and I felt like I could have gone through the roof.

Nephew gave me a hug at Christmas and I thought my bones were crushed..Talk about pain...omg..I hurt for days...Thurs Rheumy pressed on both shoulders and they still hurt today...owwwwwwwie..

I am a sales rep and shake hands all the time and I feel like my hand is broken. Its a terrible feeling. When im in a flare my ankles or fingers will feel broken I swear sometimes there just has to be blood this hurts so bad :( xoxo

Hello e1 I am so glad I found this site. I have had RA for 9 mns now. I am 64 and have had OA for many many years thruout my Bod...Reading all of your stories is so very helpful to me, as I have suffered the same and as you say it is good to know your not alone...I use to hate it when someone would shake my hand and I was sure ut was going to fall off...Better now.. Thank God..I just cut back to 6 MTX from 10 as my hair was falling out...anyone else having that problem?

I shake left handed every time now. (I shake hands all day long) I started doing this when hands were swollen. So much easier to offer the left hand than to explain why you won't shake hands. They can't or won't squeeze nearly as hard!

That's exactly how I describe RA pain-like broken bones when it's bad and sprains when it's moderate

Ardemarie are you on folic acid? I did not experience hair loss (Thank God), but severe nausea, brain fog, and fatigue, and my rheuma increased my folic acid to 2 mg a daily to conteract side effects.

In my feet I can almost feel the individual bones trying to curl up and break. My pinkie finger is also a huge one. I thought it was going to break in two the other day just trying to close my fist. :/ Sorry you are going through this but at least know you are not alone.

Yes! I was on 1 mg of folic acid and Rheumy has now increased me to 3 mg.. I do not know if it is the increase of the folic acid on the decrease to 6 pills on MTX but this week no brain fog or no flu like feeling...Just a tiny bit of naseau of and on...may not be related...

Yes! My right foot/ankle feels like it cracks every time I put weight on it. I describe my pain as feeling as if someone took a sledgehammer and crushed my ankle and wrists.

Yes, my right ankle feels like it's broken when I put weight on it to hobble down the stairs. Then there's the knife-like pain in the left hip. Weirdly, just yesterday my right pinkie knuckle swelled twice as big and the top joint suddenly bent in. Had difficulty sewing buttons on my daughter's coat. Rheumy phones me every couple days to check on med effects; seems like I'm getting all the bad side effects of the meds though he keeps cutting back (prednisone, methotaxite, Humira) and none of the pain relieving effects. Hurts, hurts. But distraction works for a few hours. Went to an opera matinee on Sunday and forgot all about the pain for nearly three hours. Tra la. J.
