I went (in pouring rain) to a growing vegetables at home group (oooby - out of our own backyard) I belong to yesterday. Because of the weather there were only a couple of us. The woman who hosted it didnt know about my RA and of course being alternative was a storm of helpful suggestions.

Among other things she produced a jar of yellowish looking grounds topped with clear liquid. Take teaspoon a day - it will help you...

Aha. What? Well it was food processor ground raw tumeric root and topped with vodka!!! I bought some tumeric and a bottle of vodka. Have already lost the tumeric, but am looking forward to the vodka....

Maybe we have all been approaching this the wrong way, instead of trying not to be miserable we should try to do something to forget just how miserable we are. Vodka is a start!

Wished someone had told me this sooner! Could have saved me a year of giving myself shots every 2 weeks.
I think I'll keep the Cimzia shots and add some shots of vodka....lol

oh that is cute. interesting she suggested turmeric ... I have been taking organic turmeric (not called root though) for my breast issues and I have to say ... for that, it works like an absolute charm. If I run out, my cystic pain returns almost immediately. Now I am wondering about the possible RA connection. Hmmmm!

Mmmmm vodka.... But only the high quality stuff works as good as kale!

BTW this is the first winter since I've owned my farm, that I haven't been able to grow spinach and gourmet greens all winter. They can handle a frigid snap or two, but not weeks of it! Even with the old leaves and straw mulch between the rows.... they bit the dust... sigh, no fresh kale for me!

So that was what I was doing wrong! Here I was making my own turmeric emulsion and it did squat for my RA but it did not have Vodka in it!

Perhaps if I had that and a few short dog hairs in it, it would have worked for me!

I'm going shopping today and thought I would make a list of the "remedies" posted on the board-

Gin
raisins
Vodka
turmeric root
short haired dog
tape

If I meet my ultimate fate on the way to the store and my shopping list is discovered what would the authorities and family think I was up to? creepy. seems more like an episode of the first 48.

I just almost spit out my afternoon coffee when I got to the part about "short haired dog" and "tape" - I forgot how absolutely hilarious you guys were, lol.

I don't like vodka or gin. Hate raisins. I like dogs.

I just got home from grocery shopping, including a trip through Food Hole, Whole Paycheck, whatever they call that place. Kale in more forms than one can imagine. Every aisle featured some sort of kale product, and it ain't cheap! $8 for a tiny bag of kale "chips"! (I assume they are closer to cow chips than corn or potato chips.) Being as unfashionable as I am, I filled my cart up with gluten: bread, a box of pasta, a bag of cheap (for them) cereal, and a bit of chocolate to hide from the kids.

Forgot to check the liquor department for kale or turmeric flavored vodka.

Better the dog eat the raisins than me, lol. Wonder where "tape" comes into play here? I don't think I like that mental image!

I need to read up on my miracle cures, I'm way behind on this stuff, lol.

Scarlett, read the "craziest things said" thread. Unbelievable what home remedies have surfaced. "Petting a short-haired dog" probably takes the cake.
