Hope so! I've read recently that people who are diagnosed and aggressively treated promptly do much better in the long run.

congrats on having a proactive doctor willing to treat assertively. there is quite a bit of research that says early, assertive treatment helps prevent permanent damage.

Yes good move on doctors part.
I don't understand why some drag their feet trying this & that instead of attacking head on with those that have more aggressive RA.
Really hope lucks on your side & you get control sinner then later.
Sounds like you may be in good hands & that is a huge plus.

My husband has gone with me to my appointments so far so I have another set of ears and another person to help think of questions. He also has been impressed with how aggressive the DR is being.

The Dr seemed to feel that we should be able to have a good prognosis since we caught things early.

As you all know, there is an emotional roller coaster we all ride on, but right now I feel like I maybe finished that really big climb at the start and am looking forward to the big drop, even though I know there is going to be more ups and downs along the way!

Glad to hear that not only your dr is being thorough,but that your husband is right there with ya! And if he could-I bet he would share some of your physical problems

I was diagnosed this March - and my family doctor was so concerned with my blood work and symptoms that he started me on methotrexate and folic acid right away - as I am still waiting to see a rheumatologist - so I agree - you are getting treatment right away and you sound like you are in good hands -

My wife has been incredibly supportive and it makes things so much more manageable -

good for you. I waited a year after diagnosis to start treatment. Thought I could manage the disease without meds. I was very wrong.
