A week in 108 degree weather did wonders for me for the first three days, then all hell broke loose. Major flare hit Thursday morning and wasn't worth a crap the rest of the day. Did manage to go to pool and get in the warm water whiich did seem to help somewhat. Left on Saturday morning and my poor wife had to drove 70% of the way home. My arms and hands and legs were a mess.....managed the trip loaded up on pain pills and did take over the helms coming through Nashville.....she would have never made it. Its a maze of roads running in all directions with 4 interstated converging in the middle of the city....How I did it loaded up on Vicodins is anyones guess....lol
For the most part, I've been in either a major flare or semi flare since our return home and have hardly done a thing. Did manage to make it the lab on Monday of last week for blood work doctored ordered before we left. Results came back that sent me to my PCP for followup. Seems I'm bleeding internally somewhere so a CT Scan was ordered and still waiting on results from that. I do have a history of polyps in the colon. I have two colonoscopys done a year and missed one due to insurance denying one. PCP is certain that's where the lose of blood is comiing from. I see the butt doctor Thursday at noon then have to rush down the street to see my heart doctor at 2:00pm......it's been 5 years since last cath so I'm sure one of those will be ordered. I have three heart stents over 11-12 years old.
It's 1:30 am now and I'm in a flare and can't sleep....just took another pain pill and waiting for it to ease the pain and will try to go back to bed.
That's it on an update from this old guy...going to do a little work on my photo site while i have a cup of coffee and wait for pill to kick in. I give you a lot of credit - I know without even trying that I couldn't handle my RA symptoms being away from home. Without the comfort of my home, chair, bed, and familiar surroundings it would make it that much worse for me.
I hope you can get your other health issues under control - can't image how that compounds the RA.......
Especially long rides in the car. My back & body would rebel.
Sounds like your dealing with multiple things here.
It's just a thought but can't help but wonder if one contributes to the other?
If doctors are still in the dark about many of the how's & whys then I'm sure they cannot be 100% sure.

So sorry your still having so much pain. Life is not always fair.
Does your RA doctor know about your pain levels? If so what's the plan?
Pain disrupting sleep is a bugger.
Really hoping it gets better for you. You've had your share of pain lately.
I was in pain management before my DX with RA. I thank god he's there just in case. I know if it gets to be to much I have that extra help from my PM DR. If I have to have injections of any kind at least I know this guy does enough to put my mind at ease.
Hate to hear of anyone suffering if it gets to be to much & your not with a PM doctor it may be an option. Something to consider.
