Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. I'm not sure if you tried wrapping it.
Used a anti inflammatory patch couple yrs ago. Flector, helped me but insurance would not cover. Difficult area to use a patch on I know but thought I'd throw out there.
Wishing you the best.

Anyway, to answer your question about relieving some of the pain...I saw my massage therapist yesterday. There's a clump of nerves on the outer part of your elbow. (The outer will help carpal tunnel symptoms & the inner will help tennis elbow) If your arm is extended its on the right side. When you touch it you'll feel it because it's tight, maybe even lumpy, and it will hurt like crazy. Massage it as long as you can. I use a golf ball because my fingers hurt too much. My therapist says it usually takes 10-15min to get it to release. That's the norm. Mine took 40min to get a 50% release. But I'll take 50% because at least now I have semi-use of my right hand which is better than I started.
If it's higher than your wrist try the same spot but in your shoulder. If it's nerve it can go as high as your collar bone. All nerves come from the spine and there's 3 that go down your arm. They can get caught in your collar bone, shoulder or elbow.
TMI??
Hope you feel better!
