Just wondering if anyone else had hip dysplasia as infant with now pain and hip issues as adult. I currently have RA recently dx but suffering with symptoms for about 5 yrs prior. Was tx with braces as infant for hip dysplasia. hip always seemed more mobile esp left have had pain in it since birth of 1st child 12 yrs ago. finally after pain has increased over the years and especially increased pain and grinding in joint over last 6 months and now enough pain that having many sleepless nights unless take vicodin I made appt. with ortho. Not sure if it is related to arthritis developing in joint or related more to congenital placement of femur head. Have not had x-ray, mri etc. what should I be asking for? had x-rays of hands/feet with rheumy showed nothing but had 1 MRI hand only(only thing ins would pay for) and showed erosion multiple joints of fingers. Would it be presumptive to ask directly for MRI given the congenital issues or go with x-ray first? very nervous on what will be found
