Welcome!! I get the pins and needles my rheumy told me it was from swelling from the RA but you should always ask since everyone is different. But I was worried it was something with nerves etc haha I'm a major worrier :-) Hope it helps

i've felt that too. like we all feel it if we sit on our leg wrong or something like that - like when a limb 'falls asleep'. but i've been waking up a lot at night feeling it in my hands and arms. and now that i'm thinking about it, you know how when your foot 'falls asleep' and you get pins and needles followed by that horrible painful feeling as the blood like comes back? i don't get that second part with these pins and needles. i thought maybe my hands were falling asleep because i was sleeping on them or something like that....

hmm. so, yes, i get those pins and needles in my fingers, hands, and forearms without any discernible 'falling asleep' symptoms. i've also felt it in my shoulders which was a strange feeling. i think the idea that it's affecting your hearing is interesting. maybe track the pins and needles for a few days, see if you can determine any pattern to bring to your doctor.

Hi and welcome!!! Yes I have the pins and needles in my hands up to my elbows. Both my hands and elbow do swell. I have had surgery on both of my hands for carpal tunnel about. I have heard that RA and carpal tunnel seem to go together. I also have the pin and needles in my legs and feet also but then my hip and knees swell too... so I guess it sure can be the inflammation causing it... But it is something to talk to your doctor about. Keep us posted as what your doctor thinks it might be caused by.

Welcome! I experience the same sensation, but only in my hands. My doctor attributes it to bad blood circulation because I am rather petite and skinny.

That must be really annoying when it affects your hearing! What is that like?

I get a lot of tinnitus as I fall asleep,and it becomes soooo loud. My hearing is now in moderate hearing loss in both ears. Thus, between the pins and needles and the ear noise it will constantly wake me up. It is so frustrating. This pretty much happens as I get sleepy for both the pins and needles and tinnitus to start. My feeling is that they are related. It appears to be worse with certain foods I eat.

Welcome....I also have tinnitus..gets worse at night as it gets quiet and you are more aware of it..Turn on a radio, t.v. or "white noise..." I sometimes get it so loud I have to hike the t.v. wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy up.. Pins and needles in my hands mostly..I just tend to ignore it as it has just become one of those annoying things I deal with...
