Alone and freaking out !

My big toe on my right foot has been bent for a while but, the one on my left has been straight. My feet have been ice cold alot lately. Then they turn numb and clammy. This is going on now and I am thirsty. My husband and daughter are working I flip my blanket back and then get a sharp pain in my left foot at base of toe when I look I see it being pulled to the left all the way over to the rest of my toes snug. This is flipping me out!!! With-in minutes it returned back on it's on.( I tried to straighten and couldn't) I am very tender there now but it was extremely scary. What's worse is I figure this is just a taste of what to look forward to. Is this normal for RA toes? My ankles have what I assume to be nodules all around them . My ankle bones inside and out feel so badly bruised. This is 24/7 and my hand and wrist are giving me the same problems. Every line in the palms of my hands and the palm of every fingers feel so bruised it takes my breath when I touch something hard with my fingers.
I wanted to tell someone what was going on and at the same time I don't want them to feel worse by knowing what I am going through and knowing they can't stop it. At the same time I have broke down every day now for about a week. I use to be able to hide the pain but not so much anymore.
Ok, I am still thirsty so I am going to see if I can put weight on these feet. Thanx for listening. Love and hugs, Terri

I haven't had your exact same symptoms, but I have had feelings like I had a tight tight band running around and over the top and arch of the foot so tight it felt like it was crushing the foot. Sometimes my toes do move on their own without me trying to make them move. My ankles are so swollen and achey. Another woman who used to be on this forum called them "cankles." It's RA and in my case some neuropathy, too. I just started Orencia infusions and hope that it helps all this weird pain. Are you on any biologics?

Hang in there. I'm alone, too, but we can always reach out and find someone on this forum...just like you did. Hope you feel much better soon.

Boy, I understand that freaked out feeling. I am doing well on my meds now, but deformities continue to get worse! My big toe on my left foot is bending over my other toes! It looks like I am getting a new toe joint on the side of my left foot, too.
Are my meds going to stop this? What else is gong to happen? My symptoms of RA are actually considered mild now, because I can work and even do some other things, like shop and laundry. If these deformities continue on this course, am I going to be able to do anything in the even near future ?

Oh wow, that sounds very miserable. I am so sorry and I hope you are feeling better today. It's really scary to see our bodies changing in front of our eyes and we can only take our meds and pray they work. My left hand was looking unrecognizable to me and also the swelling in my feet and hands was creepy to me. The prednisone took it out, but now that I'm tapering off I worry about it happening again.

I get that and it hurts really bad. Massage the foot to release it and do stretching + weight bearing exercise to make sure it doesn't come back. It started happening to me after I stopped doing activities because of my illness.

My toes do not do this although I do get mega pain like someone is pulling a wire tight inside my foot and leg...I do have that happen with my fingers...All of a sudden my finger will just snap to the side and stay there...Like it is frozen in place.... other times when I try to turn the page of the paper my thumb and finger freeze in place and I have to take my other hand to move them... AHHHh isn't r.a. wonderful....NOT ! We certainly do learn new things about it all the time...
